3 things

My sponsor has told me to try and think of 3 things that I am grateful for everyday. I have only been doing this less than a week, but it is certainly help to cement a feeling of happiness. Even on days that I consider to have been difficult, there is always something to be grateful for. This attitude of gratitude (like the rhyming?!) doesn’t come naturally to me, as I am more used to picking apart what is *wrong* with me life, and have some serious #firstworldproblems. Well, I am trying not to, and to keep my Princessing (yes, that is a verb) down to a minimum.

Here are three things from today:

1- Thank you for another day sober

2- Thank you to my husband for my lie in AND  nap. It’s like all the sleep I lost when I was in withdrawal is being made up for now. Isn’t the human body an amazing thing?!

3-Thank you for the opportunity to greet a newcomer to the meeting tonight. She looked appreciative that I spoke to her, and we swapped numbers in case she wanted to talk. I remember walking in through the door for the first time, I was bricking it. Going to a meeting meant I accepted that I really needed help, a prospect that was terrifying. So nice to be able to help someone else they way others have helped me.

No great insights in this post, but I would love to hear what you are grateful for today if you don’t mind sharing with me.
